2-parts |
2-parts syringe: Consists of a cylinder and a plunger |
3-parts |
3-parts syringe: Consists of a cylinder, a plunger and a rubber stopper (seal) at the plunger end.The Low Dead Space (LDS) syringe should be the first choice for drug users. At present, the LDS syringe is only produced for 1 ml syringes. |
Aspiration filter |
The aspiration filter, unlike the ejection filter, filters the solution during inspiration / aspiration. |
Blister pack |
The blister is a clear plastic packaging. The product can be squeezed out of the package through a cardboard, plastic, or aluminum foil back panel. |
CE |
The abbreviation “CE” is an identification that stands for “European Conformity”. This marking demonstrates compliance by the manufacturer with the safety requirements for products in the EU. For this purpose, a corresponding conformity assessment procedure was carried out for each labeled product. |
EO (ethylene oxide) sterilized |
EO sterilization is used on heat and moisture-sensitive products. Ethylene oxide is used for the sterilization process. The sterilization process allows the products to be packaged and stacked throughout the process. The sterilized products are ready to ship without additional repacking or other handling. |
Gas chromatography |
Gas chromatography (GC) is a physical process for the separation of chemically closely-related substances with gas. |
LDS |
1 ml syringe, Luer slip with LDS plunger.
A Low Dead Space (LDS) syringe has a smaller “dead space”. With LDS syringes, the plunger is extended and the plunger tip extends into the syringe neck. As a result, more fluid flows out of the syringe and the blood residue is lower compared to a syringe without LDS. On average, an LDS syringe has less than 2.5 ml of blood after consumption. High Dead Space (HDS) are syringes with a larger “dead space” and may contain up to 84 ml of blood. According to WHO studies, used LDS syringes can significantly reduce the risk of communicable diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. At present, the LDS plunger is only offered for 1 ml syringes. |
Luer Hub |
The Luer system is a standardized connection system for syringes, infusion sets and hypodermic needles. It allows the combination of syringes and hypodermic needles from different manufacturers.
Luer hub of the hypodermic needle is shown in green. |
Luer lock system |
The Luer system is a standardized connection system for syringes, infusion sets and hypodermic needles. It allows the combination of syringes and hypodermic needles from different manufacturers. Luer lock is a closure in which the male connector has a rotating thread. The connection between the hypodermic needle and syringe is attached by a rotation of the Luer lock closure. The Luer lock closure makes it easier to attach hypodermic needles to the syringe and it is easy to avoid the needle slipping out. |
Luer cone / Luer slip |
The Luer slip system is a standardized connection system with a plug connection between the hypodermic needle or filter and syringe parts. An attachment connects the parts hypodermic needle or filter with the syringe, thus ensuring grip. |
pH value: 1.4 |
The pH value is a measure of the acidity of a solution and thus allows the distinction between acids and bases. The lower the pH, the more acidic the solution. If the pH is 7.4, it is called physiological and corresponds to that of blood. |
Polypropylene |
Polypropylene is one of the lightest-weight and harder plastics. The special properties of polypropylene include a high melting point and excellent ability to be sterilized. The mechanical properties can be influenced in many ways during production. In addition, polypropylene can be easily recycled. |
