Product description
Description
- SyriFILT®™ PIC: Standard hypodermic needle with integrated filter disc, making it a special hypodermic needle
- Eliminates maximum impurities in a solution before injection
- The use of syringes with Luer lock connection ensures a more secure hold of the SyriFILT®™ PIC.
Special benefits of the SyriFILT®™ PIC
- Easier handling: The filter and hypodermic needle can be attached to the syringe with just one hand. Procedure:
- Draw up the solution
- Attach the needle
- Inject the solution
- Dispose of the syringes safely
- This eliminates the aspiration step through the filter. The SyriFILT®™ PIC is simpler and more user-friendly.
- The filter clogs after a single use and cannot be reused.
- This type of filter produces less waste (no additional packaging for the filter).
Development
The SyriFILT®™ PIC has the same filter material as the SyriFILT®™ STANDARD: a filter disc specifically designed for intravenous drug use. In 1991, the development of the SyriFILT®™ STANDARD filter was initiated. In 1992, the first generation filter with a filter fabric came onto the market. The filter fabric was replaced in 1998 by the filter disk. The SyriFILT®™ STANDARD has been continuously updated up to the present.
Laboratory tests have shown the safety and efficiency of the SyriFILT®™ STANDARD: approximately 93% of all foreign particles over 10 mue remain in the filter.
A table with absolute values cannot be shown because this is closely related to the many different street drugs.
The development of the filter was realized in cooperation with Delta Lab in Rotterdam. On behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Health, this lab made drug analyses of street drugs for risk identification. The filter was used in this. After filtering an injection solution, it was found using gas chromatography /electron spectrometer that approximately 93% of the foreign substances were filtered out of the solution. An absolute series of measurements cannot be given because street drugs often have a wide range of contaminants.
